Default The Q and Windows Mobile 7

I seen the Windows Mobile 7 photos and frankly I am disappointed in Microsoft and everybody that says they were happy with what they seen. The hype is steal the iPhone interface but at least to me the iPhone interface is not business friendly.

What do I use my Q for?

Above all for work, respond to a answer emails, appointments, task, notes and reminders.

Playing movies, games, and MP3s is for me has always been secondary.
If media was more important I buy and iPhone.

So with what I what the Q fully keypad, running Good is perfect.

My Questions are do you think Microsoft creating an iPod clone of an interface is to people like me too bad and future versions of the Q to support Windows Mobile 7 will have no keypad?

I read some of the documents on WM7, and it does say that the new OS will support phones with full keyboards, esspecialy since their is no built in keboard like the iPhone's.

I honestly feel that the smartphone is evolving into something that the average user is interested in purchasing (as opposed to just business people, who have been the main target demographic up untill recently.) and therefore, we are going to see some major improvements in the entertainment value of our mobile phones which is definantly not a bad thing.

Regardless, I am sure that there will still be a very heavy emphasis put on making sure that WM7 devices perform in way that they are even more usefull to business users, so I don't think you have anything real to worry about, but you do have soime fancy new toys to look forward to.

/ continues ^ rant

if you see a design flaw or possible improvement, provide feedback to the developers. Remember..what you see now is not the final product.

If you hate Microsoft that much, fell free to go back to this :

The iPhone is good for Windows Mobile....and further development of Windows Mobile is good for the iPhone. Having spent a lot of time on various forums (since I run a few), all parties have issues with their operating systems. Each time a developer "raises the bar", it causes the other team to get movin'. Both consumer and business users will make use of a smartphones browser. Safari on the iPhone still blows me away. To me, IE still lacks when compared to the age-old Palm Blazer browser. From the WM 7 screenshots, it looks like we'll finally get the "real Internet" on WM devices. This is huge. It's certainly possible that the iPhone had something to do with it. Not to mention, Android is coming and I'm sure that will bring something new to the table - pushing the envelope further.

On the flip side, I'm sure there will be plenty of companies that go overboard and develop their version of the iPhone. While it's important to "borrow" some of the good aspects of the iPhone, I certainly don't want a device that is essentially a bastardized version of the iPhone.

I do not want Motorola (or Palm or BlackBerry) to abandon the keyboard and I doubt they will. The tactile response of a QWERTY is still a major selling point. However, I've always said it'd be nice to see a Windows Mobile Professional version of the Q. Samsung appears to be working on a touch-screen Blackjack and there were rumors of a Moto Q touch screen floating around a few months back.

Should be interesting to see where Moto goes with development from a hardware perspective.
