From the info I've read/found out about Wm7, it says that technically, all devices capable of running Wm6, should be able to run Wm7 (with some features missing..)

so who's looking forward to hacking Wm7 to get on their Moto q9h? we all know no carrier will release it for it.. =)

I know I am!

I've managed to get Wm6.1 running on my 2 year old Sprint PPC-6700!

about the hacking... so far no success stories on getting WM6.1 working on a Verizon/Alltel Q9c so i see no bright future for 7.0 working for us ta this point...

Wait.. I thought I read a thread on here that someone managed to get the Sprint WM6.1 ROM working on the Verizon Q9c... I'll have to dig around for it.

yea... know the thread, nobody including myself have been able to get it working... (error 222)

reading through these comments, it seem no one can be pleased. i'm quite happy with 6.1 on my sprint 9c. maybe i drank to much MS koolaid over the years. i had to do a master reset on my phone just yesterday as menus were taking minutes, 5 to be exact to change. but i'm sure it was something i did. first thing i did when i reloaded it was start with reg hacks, move mail to sd card, ie cache to sd card. file system and other "speed" hacks. i personally enjoy technology and try to learn from my mistakes. on the boards now looking for the com1 gps hack. think my point of the rambeling is if you arent happy with the phone, put it in the box, list it on ebay and get a standard phone. at least there is a valid reason to complain about those, not nearly as customizable as a smartphone. ok i'm done.

There's a rumor that Microsoft is releasing a WM7 application store. I think we are going to see a huge jump from WM6 to WM7... On top of that Windows Mobile is supposed to start crossing paths with Microsoft's Zune software in some form or another. Only time will tell.

To everyone who thinks they are going to flash WM7 onto their Q9...well good luck...Upgrading phone software is hardware sensitive. I assume that WM7 will have subtle variations in ROM for each carrier's tacked on software and functionalties so your odds of simply flashing or hacking WM7 onto a phone that wasn't designed for it seems like a stretch...

I mean we don't even know what WM7's system requirements will be. The Q9 series is underpowered as it is...I just don't see it handling next gen Windows Mobile very well.

maybe I'm just too pessimistic but I'm personally going to make my Q last as long as possible until verizon or sprint releases a wm7 Q officially.
