Newest Q model in June? - Motorola Q Forum

I work at a clothing store at the mall and the owner of the local US Cellular store comes in quite often. She has a moto Q and we are constantly talking about new software and applications that we find.

Today she came in and told me that she is getting the newest Q when US Cellular releases it in June. I asked her if she meant the Q9 and she told me "No." She said she was getting the new touch screen Q. I looked at her like she was stupid and asked her again if she was sure it wasn't the Q9. She told me that US Cellular was definately getting a TS Moto Q in June.

I told her that I hadn't heard anything about it yet other than rumors and she told me that US Cellular decided they wanted to start jumping on the bandwagon earlier with some of the newer phones that are coming out this summer.

She didn't seam to be joking around about it and she has been pretty reliable about other phones that USCC has been releasing. We may be seeing the new Q sooner than expected (if you are a USCC customer).

haven't heard anything about the Q10 simce the rampant rumors about the "genghis" in september. I doubt they would go touchscreen, but you never know.

seems to have been very quiet regarding the Q10...
not to mention that june is like sunday...

not for nothing...but i would doubt US Cellular gets it first

yeah if ne thing it would prolly be verizon or sprint ... or maybe us cellular is trying to get a crap load of customers

My guess is that Motorola will offer a line of smartphones (like most other manufacturers). I don't think the Q10 will be touchscreen. My guess (and it's just a guess), is that the Q10 will be the Q9 replacement and the touch screen Moto Q will launch as a new model --- perhaps under a different brand.

It seems everyone is jumping on the touch screen bandwagon given the success of the iPhone. If RIM can release a touchscreen BlackBerry, then expect them all to jump in the fray. I mean, the BlackBerry is the quintessential QWERTY/non-touchscreen device.

As to your source, I'd love to see Moto surprise the heck out of us. Like Palm, everyone seems to love counting Motorola out. Odd because I think the Moto Q 9 is one of the most popular WinMo smartphones out there. Yet, they get no love from the media. This is probably due to the press about their struggling mobile devision and the RAZR's fall from grace.

All I can say is that she seemed pretty confident in the fact that she would be getting the new Q in June. I'll grill her for more info next time she stops in.

This is probably due to the Q becoming the smartphone equivellent of the Volvo wagon. People stopped saying "Is that a Q? Cool!" back in 2006.
