It's true. I went to a Verizon store today (June 2) and asked if there was a new Motorola Q due out sometime in June. The two reps immediately got these "we're not supposed to say" looks on their faces.
One finally caved in and said yes. It's due out around Fathers' Day. He told me to look on PhoneScoop.com. He didn't provide any other info, like model name or anything. I haven't looked on PhoneScoop yet.
Personally, I hope it's worth having. My contract is up now.

Were they talking about the Q9c or did they have that in stock?
The new treo 800w is coming to verizon and with the centro, I don't think a touch screen q would come to them.
However, my q is touch screen. I can touch it all I want, it just doesn't respond.
Again, they didn't say and I didn't see anything on PhoneScoop, either. I just checked awhile ago.
I didn't push it with the Verizon reps, since they were obviously trying to be secretive. I just figured the truth would be out in a couple weeks, according to them. To me, the "tell-tale" sign that something is coming was neither one's willingness to even respond to my question, initially. You know how some people give you that "how do you know about that" look, when you ask something? Maybe it's one of the versions mentioned in the news section on this site.
All I can say is what a Verizon rep told me in their own store. Now, if that person told a blatant lie, that's one thing. But, why lie? Especially, a lie like that.
What I mean is, why wouldn't he have just said "No, there isn't a new Q coming" or "No, I haven't heard anything about that"?--if he was gonna lie. Why go to the extreme of giving me a "Fathers' Day" reference for delivery of the phone? Is this "phone stuff" that serious? You know what I mean? Particularly, when a customer could, potentially, go back and complain that he was blatantly lied to, and vow to take his business elsewhere.
I do wish I had asked more questions, but I didn't think it was that big of a deal. The person said "yes" and I took it as that. Maybe the person was in a managerial capacity or just had some knowledge. Again, I just walked in and asked the question. I wouldn't expect two people to give me the "don't wanna let the cat outta the bag" looks, at the same time, for nothing.
But, as we all know, time will tell.
