Motorola Q8 Released

It appears that the Motorola Q8 was released in the Middle East. The Q8 seems to be our beloved old-style Q with GSM and Windows Mobile 6, not the Q9h.

This may not be a "future" Q now, but I thought this was the best place to put this.

"Earlier this week"? That means maybe three days ago. Hardly what I'd call "old".

I would have searched for Q8 posts, but you can't search for "Q8" because it's too short, so I thought I'd let people know.

What's the difference between the Q8 and what? The original Q, the Q9h, something else?

If you're asking about the original Q, I listed two differences -- Windows Mobile 6 and a GSM radio (instead of CDMA). One thing I missed previously was that the Q8 apparently has a two megapixel camera, not a 1.3 MP one.

As the Q8 is a GSM phone, while the original Q (OQ ) is a CDMA phone, I doubt that will work.

However, the OQ does have some GSM stuff on it, which obviously doesn't work on the OQ. If the Q8 has the CDMA stuff on it and somebody extracts the ROM, maybe somebody would be foolish, er, a guinea pig.

However, I think it would probably be easier to use a Q 9m ROM on the OQ than a Q8 ROM.
