Default What is an inexpensive BT GPS that works with Q?

I am looking for a decent GPS under $100 that works with Q...
I know it should work for google maps, windows live, etc. but do I have to get extra software for it to "talk" to me?

I mean, is there a reason I shouldn't get one of the less expensive ones at
http://buygpsnow.com/

like

Qstarz BT-Q818 32-Channel Bluetooth GPS Receiver(Free Arkon Vent Mount)
i-Blue Edition 2 (i-Blue 737) - High Sensitivity Bluetooth GPS Receiver (32 channel, WAAS, Auto On/Off)
Holux GPSlim 236 Bluetooth GPS Receiver(SiRF III)(Free Arkon Vent Mount)
Holux GPSlim 240 Wireless Bluetooth GPS Receiver (GR-240)(SiRF III)(Free Arkon Vent Mount)(In Stock Now)

I see there's one that comes with software...
Delorme Street Atlas USAŽ 2007 Handheld + i-Blue Edition 2 (i-Blue 737)(32 channel, WAAS, Auto On/Off)(Supports Palm OS & Pocket PC PDAs and Phones)(Free Arkon Mount)

Is there a need for software if I am not going to use it on my PC, but just use it on the Q? I had heard I needed one that was WAAS and used SIRF chipset, but is that a requirement?

Thanks

SiRF Star III is a desired chipset these days - I wouldn't want one without it. The USGlobalsat BT-338 was the darling of the GPS forums last year, and you can probably find a good buy on one now. The 359 is a minor update to the 338 in a spiffy new case, but not worth, in my opinion, the difference in price.

I've purchased from buygpsnow.com too. They are good folks who offer good aftersales support if you need it.

Windows Live and Google Maps aren't so great if you get into a 1X area. The big players in consumer navigation programs for Smartphones are ALK Co-Pilot and Mapopolis. Co-Pilot is the fancier, but Mapopolis is less expensive. Mapopolis also offers a free 9-day trial period. Both are onboard solutions rather than online.

^^^ What SafeHarbor said.

Sirfstar III is amazing. I've got 2 GPSs with that chipset and they can even get a lock inside my apartment.

I've had good experience with buygpsnow.com as well.

Default GPSSlim Works great

I have the GPSlim 240 above and it works great with the Q. I have used Mapopolis and Windows Live, no issues - fast and reliable. Googlemaps however was not an easy setup, but I don't think it had to do with the GPS unit.

Additionally, the GPS slim 240 has 10hr battery, on/off switch and the battery is replaceable with a standard nokia cell battery.

I highly recommend it. However, be sure on what GPS software you want to use as I heard some manufacturers like Garmin, will only let you use their GPS receiver with their software. Of course, I never tried Garmin, I just heard on other forums.

I'll give your 8 dollars and 37 cents for one of those! That's shipping included of course!

Haha, nice try... ;)

One belongs to my CarPC project, and the other is a compactflash GPS that I use with my iPAQ.

I just ordered the Gpslim 240 was it an easy set up or did you have to do any hacks?
