Default Voyager 510 Won't Pair...

This isn't really a Q problem, but I thought maybe someone else had this headset and could tell me what the problem is. I just purchased a Plantronics Voyager 510 headset and received it yesterday in the mail.

After charging the unit until the light went blue (per the instructions) I am powering on the unit and trying to set it up to work with my Q.

The headset will power on (flashing blue light), but when I follow the instructions to get it to enter into pairing mode (hold the call control and "Volume +" buttons at the same time) nothing happens... I just get a steady blue light. It's supposed to alternately flash blue/red if the headset goes into pairing mode successfully.

Plantronics support doesn't open for another 2 hours, so I thought I would check here first... any thoughts?

i have/use the exact same headset (and really like it), i am guessing -just making sure- you have the Bluetooth on the Q ON ? i can't help anymore right now 'cuz my manual is at work and i'm home this morning.. it took me a few times before it would connect and flash red & blue also, since then it has been flawless.

Thanks for the info, I actually picked this headset up after seeing it recommended in another thread last week. I also have a Motorola HS820 that works fine, so I know that Blutooth is enabled on my Q.. if I could just get the 510 to start the pairing process I think I would be all set. I'll keep trying & call Plantronics if I still don't have any luck... thanks again!

I know this is an older post, but I just got this headset myself. Try starting pairing mode from when the headset is off (no blue or red light). It should enter pairing mode from there. I had a hard time trying to figure this out since we didn't even have an instruction manual on-hand. The Plantonics web site has good video guides for pairing their headsets with a variety of phones, including the Q, too.

Thanks for the tip... I actually ended up calling Plantronics and they dtermined tht the headset was defective. The call button did not work at all. I sent it back for a replacement, the new one still hasn't arrived (some customer service glitch). I should be getting the replacement today or tomorrow. I'll use your pairing instructions when I get the new one... thanks for the tip!
