Default Stereo Bluetooth - Jabra or Plantronics?

I'm looking at bumping up to a stereo BT headset. I realize that sound quality will be nothing like my noise canceling headphones that I use when I travel on the plane or even my iPod headphones. I would like to listen to an occasional radio stream or MP3 on my q9m in stereo though. I've got some Amazon gift certificates to blow... so I've narrowed down to the following:

Plantronics Voyager 855

and

Jabra 8010

Both headsets have a detachable stereo headphone, so I can run mono when I want or stereo. I'm leaning toward the Plantronics, as it looks to be more of an "in ear" version which should help with ambient noise.

Anyone offer any reviews and/or suggestions?

I personally like my S9s, but to each his own. What is it that you like so much about these two particular BTs?

Price, for one thing. Both are reasonable on Amazon. Second, I have used a Plantronics BT at work for a couple of years and am very pleased with the quality... granted my work headset was a couple hundo in price. I saw the Jabra while researching the Plnt on Amazon.

I am not set on either... they are the two I liked thus far. I am open to other models... feel free to suggest.

Yea the S9s are steep. I kind of stumble into a free(ish) pair. but yea I can definetally see where price would be an issue. I really like them, but I havn't tried another brand so I wouldn't know if they are worth the money or not when compared to other headsets.

I should add that I like the "combo" effect for each of these. They can be used as mono or stereo. If I just want a headset, I can use the single ear piece. If I want stereo, you add the second. You're not locked in to one or the other.

Well, I decided the only way to find out is to try one. I ordered the Plantronics Voyager 855. Spent the extra $4 for overnight shipping and the new toy arrived today. I will try and provide a full review after I get a few days of the headset under my belt.

Initial thoughts... sounds quality is better than what I anticipated. Not as much bass as I'd like, but these are not meant for audiophile listening. The selectable earpieces allowed me to find the one with the best fit and it gives a good seal in the ear. I talked to my wife while I was waiting in line at the gas station during lunch and I could hear her very plainly above the ambient noise. She could also hear me fine.

First big negative... it doesn't appear that pushing the button will bring up voice recognition automatically like my old headset. I have to hit the voice button on the Q or dial the number and send manually. Also, voice recognition doesn't want to hear when I say "Yes" or "No", so it seems. I honestly don't use voice dialing much, so it's not too big of a deal... but it is a definite thumbs down if it doesn't handle voice commands very well.

More to come soon...
