Default Q and the Garmin Nuvi 660 GPS

I just purchased the Garmin Nuvi 660, and paired my Q with it via Bluetooth. The system works great. I can just enter my truck and the Q switches over to headset mode and connects to the Nuvi automatically. I just push a button on the Nuvi to make a handsfree call via the Q. Voice dial works pretty good and all my contacts were transferred to the Nuvi as well. Just though I would pass this success story on if anyone else is considering this unit.

After your reply, I had my wife go into the truck so I could here how it sounded on the home phone. I would give the voice quality a 8 out of 10. It does sound like you are on a speakerphone, and a little hollow, but that is pretty normal. In the truck, the voice quality is very good. I am impressed with how well it worked. I did not buy the unit for this feature, so it is an added benifit. It is hard to get lost with this system, even though I tried today running around doing errands. It even found me a faster route for a place I had been driving to for several years.

any issues with the phone restarting? mine never had an issue with a jabra earpiece but my nuvi 360 causes the phone to reboot often.

I too have the Q and a Nuvi 360 GPS. The voice quality of the Nuvi speaker and microphone are really great. I did choose to add an external microphone to my unit and have the audio output pumping into my stock radio head unit so the sound comes out through my car speakers.

Problem with the Q:
Since I changed to a Q the bluetooth connection to my Nuvi - drops on and off every few minutes! This is really Annorying as it shows a message on the Nuvi display saying that the phone has been disconnected. Has anyone else experienced this same problem and found a solution or workaround? I know there is nothing wrong with the Nuvi becuase I used a Motorola E815 cell phone on the same service (Verizon) for 8 months before buying the Q and I NEVER had the bluetooth disconnection problem with that phone. So maybe the bluetooth quality on the Q is inferior to that or my previous phone?

I have seen this happen with my 660 as well. I will be driving along and the message will pop up that the phone has been disconnected. I don't know if this is really happening, as I received a call right after, and I have never lost a call because of this. It is kind of irritating though.

My problem is pretty much resolved with a new Q that Verizon replaced my original one with. I notice that occasionally right when I get in the car it will connect and disconnect and reconnect, but after the first 30 seconds I haven't noticed disconnects and certainly no rebooting of the phone. I did have a dropped call but I'm not sure if it was bluetooth related as the GPS never showed that it was disconnected and the phone didn't make the connect/disconnect chime.

As an update, things are still good but occasionally my phone/nuvi connection will go through connect/disconnect cycles. This is fixed by rebooting the phone (which I need to get in the habit of - sometimes it's a week or more between reboots). Something must get screwy in WM5 that requires a fresh start...
