This looks pretty cool. A Bluetooth GPS receiver key chain.

Does it have any kind of quick release mechanism to get it off of your key chain?

It doesn't come with one, but my keychain had one anyway.

Its not really needed, I haven't found any reason to take it off. Works in the car, in the backpack, in my pocket, etc. Its really small, smaller than the car alarm remote and uses the same mini-usb charger as the rest of my gizmos.

Being a SiRFStar III receiver, I guess the sensitivity could allow it to be used like that. I generally prefer to keep my receivers on the dash with a view of the sky, but mine are only SiRFStar II receivers.

And if I want to hook it up to the car adapter, I don't want the cord running into my pocket or to the steering wheel.

Sometimes I just unclick the GPS and put it in my center console. My 12v outlet is placed low in the center of the dash so the cord isn't in the way.

Either way, the battery is good for 10+ hours so unless you're doing a crazy long road trip, there is no need to plug it in.

My favorite part is that I'm really never going to find myself without it. I always have my car keys with me, so whether I'm in one of my cars, someone else's car, walking around a city, etc--I have it ready to go.
