Default Pairing with BTG-7000 GPS

Id like to start with a prefetch...

I have split my eye balls open looking at every single topic on this site in an attempt to find the answer to my question without making a new topic. My forever struggle has come to an end with my fruitless demise. I am about ready to just lay on the ground and cry.

Ok, I have a Cellink BTG-7000 Bluetooth GPS receiver. I have both Google Maps and Windows Live Search. Neither of these programs can get the GPS to work. I have tried the registry edit hacks with no solution. On my Bluetooth manager on my Moto Q Black (verizon) I see that it is connected to the GPS receiver however there is a question mark next to it. I have convinced myself that the question mark is not a good thing and is what is causing all this connection problems for me.

I got the GPS receiver for about 30 bucks after shipping from geeks.com. If this model is not compatible with the Q please someone tell me now before I murder my computer, my Q, and the damn receiver!!!

Any thoughts would be amazing as always. Thanks so much everyone. If you need more info from me please post away!

From this thread on QUsers
http://www.qusers.com/forum/viewtopi...ht=gps+pairing

It's probably not working because you tried to pair it with your Q. I had similar problems with my GPS.

The Hack (Do at your own risk!)

Open up your preferred registry editor and go to:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BtConfig\Autoconnect\0001

and change or create:

BtBrowserEnabled=0 (DWORD)

Note: you won't have this key if you have never attempted to connect to the GPS receiver. I tried this mod after a hard reset and didn't find the key. I ran mapopolis once, fired up the GPS, the Q crashed, then proceeded with the mod on the newly created key.

I finally got it to work. I changed the setting in the .../0014 folder and that did it. I like it, tells me my speed too! I dont have that on the rangerover.

passcode most likely is something like 0000 or 1234. Those seem to be the most common.
