I have used many blue tooth head sets and I love the s9 more than any of them when it comes to sound quality.

Is that on both ends or just yours? Without a mic anywhere near the mouth I don't see how it could sound very clear in a vehicle or similar situation.

Both ends. Except in situations where there is lots of background noise. The s9 picks up everything, even my fiance talking to me 100 ft away in the kitchen. I think the mic is very sensative, but for a bluetooth device imho it does its job.

And if I mention the sound quality when listening to mp3's... forget about it. The S9 is in a league of its own. A2DP (SP?) offers amazing stereo sound, I love going somewhere and not needing an mp3 player or any annoying wires.

one thing I notice is Motorola Q9h offers superb bluetooth handsfree quality compared to other WM6 phones that I have used. When used with my handsfree parrot kit in my car, that's totally zero background noise at all and the other party in the call will able to have clear conversation with me while I drive. It's almost difficult for me to converse when using other WM phones, which incidentally are all using Microsoft Bluetooth stack, versus the Broadcom stack in Q9.

has anyone had problems pairing their s9 with their Q? i bought some off ebay and its being a pain to sync up properly. it'll work but the music is all choppy and cuts in and out. i've callled bell and motorola about it and they just jerked me around. i took it to the place where i bought my Q and we tried the S9's on a different phone and they worked fine.... and my phone works with my other bluetooth devices. if anyone has any advice that would be great.

what Q model is yours?

did you try another headset to see if you have the same problem?

If all fails, I would try hard reset the phone to see if its due to software conflict issue.

Might be a couple of different reasons,

If you are outside and your q is in your pocket it may be bad reception/interference. I get flawless reception when I put my q9c on a beltclip (even if my jacket is covering it)

My S9 cuts in and out when the battery is low. Keep it fully charged.

I sometimes need to re-pair the S9 to my phone b.c. once in a great while it will get a bad connection. When reconnecting pair it up as a stereo headset first, then it will ask if you want to connect it as a hands free device as well. This always works for me.

Hope that helps.

Beware of knock offs, I bought the original HT 820's (or so I thought) For $60 when I had the Q1. They worked pretty good but sometimes I had problems keeping the bluetooth connection and the volume could only be controlled from the earphones, also the plastic moto logo fell off the back and I had to glue it back on. I've since upgraded to the Q9m and the S9's (got both online from Verizon) and have not had a single problem connetion, sound etc. My only complaint is that style of ear bud hurts my ears after an hour or so.

I'm not sure how much they were it was part of the Verizon media package which also included a 4gb mem. card.
