My family likes it because they always thought I spoke too loud anyway on just the Q/Q9c. No echoing (plus!) either. Size is nice and functions work well. It pairs automatically with the Q9c after the initial passkey paring.
Downsides - While it fits me well, it is still a little big and thus my ear hurts a little after wearing it for an hour or 3. This would be a problem for me with any round in-ear fitting device - my wired headset does the same thing. You have to watch the battery a little - if you use it all day, you will probably need to recharge overnight. It comes with a wall unit and a usb cable. Oh, and it is not the same usb as the Q9c, darn it. It is also so small that actually pressing the button on the headset is a little hard to do - not button size, just pressing the button makes the headset move against your cheek and a little out of your ear. No big deal on that one though. The only other thing that I found different from the 8040 compared to my H500 is the 8040 will not initiate Voice Recognition. I don't really use it, be it would nice while driving to have that option.
Bottom line - I will keep it for a few more weeks before making a final decision (30-day Best Buy return policy!), but it certainly is a good device overall. My only real concern is the fit in my ear.
