I have never had that problem with the Jawbone. Perhaps you should try pairing it with another phone to see if the problem continues.

Good Luck!

I picked up the Jawbone for my Moto Q 9h yesterday from the AT&T store. I have service thru them. I did discover that I do have the B version of the Jawbone and the AT&T store told me that I have 30 days to try it out and if not satisfied i can return it with the packaging that came with it.

So far so good, no issues. The wife said that I sound clearer and is an improvement over just using the phone. I did get several complaints since i got the phone that there was alot of background noise, so that was the motive for getting the Jawbone.

I was also surprised that it works very well with the Moto's voice command functions.

I will post any issues that I find. It did cost $120.00 at the AT&T store, in the Indianapolis area.

Post Jawbone CONFUSION... Old Version & New! Help!

First of all... I am a new member here, HELLO TO ALL... what an awesome site!!!

I decided to get my Motorola Q 9C due to my being in sales... a great tool so far! I am sure that I have not even tapped into it's full potential as of yet.

I want to share my findings here and get some great suggestions if possible...

OK, here we go:
I have had a Jawbone that I purchased a year ago, it's the old version I guess that had some known incompatibility issues with CDMA phones.. but yet still worked OK with my Samsung SPH-A900. I did get many "echo" complaints! So I seldom used it. Jawbone told me that they had a newer version coming out in July of 2007, I assume that the fixed version is the model with the "B" in the 3rd line of the info now present on the Jawbone itself.

My dilemma... upon viewing this post and getting great information on the compatibility and the differences between old and new Jawbones... I tried my existing Jawbone with my new Motorola Q 9C (Sprint) phone, it sounded awesome, no echo complaints from folks I talked to, etc. It did much better than with my Samsung A900. The sticker on the Jawbone states:FCC...., Then the 2nd line: C........, no 3rd line, the same info on all Jawbones! (can't read this small print.. over 40!)

I stopped by Best Buy to pick up a new version of the Jawbone.. this one HAS the same info on Line 1 & Line 2 as my other Jawbone (again, as with all), with the exception of Line 3: "B_ _ _"
So... as this post states, it's the latest and greatest, I assume for CDMA phones as well right?

Here's the interesting thing... while using my new "B" version exclusively for a while... I get complaints regarding echo's!??? What the ????
People have been telling me that it's annoying, they hear themselves and find it very difficult to hold a conversation with me.
I plug in the old Jawbone, make some calls, no complaints.... so I fish.. I ask folks if they can hear me OK, the response is generally YES! I have heard one or two folks say that they heard a slight temporary echo.. but then it was gone. But generally GREAT!

Please advise if you know:
  1. So... is the old version better?_______________
  2. Is the new one that I have just a bad on in the batch, and maybe try another one?____________
  3. Does the new one with the "B_ _ _" on it, HAVE the CDMA updates incorporated in it?________________
  • I mention CDMA above but have no knowledge of what all that really means... I am of the mindset that the "New Upgraded CDMA version" per Jawbone CS is what I want.
  • Forget asking Jawbone CS, they are useless, no help, act dumb, unresponsive, etc. , etc. Some arrogant replies, but NOTHING useful or helpful whatsoever!!!
Suggestions Very welcome here....
Thanks for the assistance here.... Love the site, very helpful...

Edmund
