Default Jabra JX10 - No Sound on Either End

Hi,

I am having problems with my new JX10. It pairs fine, the headset can control my phone and I can hear system sounds. However, I can not hear anything else and the caller on the other end can not hear me.

For example, if my phone rings, I hear the tone, but if I answer it, I can not hear the caller and she can not hear me. Same as if I dial out. It is like both sides are on mute.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.

Tried a Plantronics 645 and it worked out of the box. Any suggestions?

Hi and welcome to EverythingQ. I have the JX10 and haven't experienced that problem. Is your JX10 new? If so, then I'd definitely recommend charging overnight using the AC Adapter. For some reason, the JX10 didn't charge via the USB cradle on the first charge. Once I got it charged, the headset is very clear. Some folks have recommended Jabra ear gells and discarded the ear hook. I plan on doing this, because headset quality is great, but I'm not a fan of the earhook.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the welcome and the cool site. I have already found a few things that I have been looking for in the forums -- Except, the answer to this problem. LOL

I tried charging overnight already, no help. Hmm, must be a defective unit.

From Jabra Technical Support. The procedure worked and my headset is functioning properly now.

Thank you for contacting JABRA North America!
You may need to hard reset your phone and start the pairing process again. I've listed some steps below for you to try. Please make sure headset and cell phone are fully charged before starting this process.
Hard Reset:
1. Delete "JABRA JX10" from your phone.
2. Turn cell phone off completely, remove battery.
3. Put headset into charging stand, connect it to the outlet and let it charge for 10 seconds.
4. Remove headset from charging stand.
5. Press the pairing button until you receive steady blue light.
6. Put headset aside and start the pairing process on your cell phone.

Default JX10 HS No Audio Moto Q post New ROM

Just did the Verizon ROM update and now all the Moto Q / Jabra JX10 headsets have no audio accept for some system beeps. I tried a hard reset / repaired and still no luck. The BT headset pairs fine and the phone thinks its all fine but no audio in or out of the headset. Anyone else have this issue? or a solution? I can get audio from other Headsets such as the HS810

same problem here

JX-10 worked excellent with my Q before the upgrade. Just upgraded today and I can't get any audio. I can successfully pair, hear system beeps, can even trigger the voice activated dialing. But there is no audio from the phone....

Can anyone find a solution? I've tried hard resets, everything....

I heard a rumor there is a JX-10 software upgrade, but can't find it. Anyone have any clues?

Default Fixed the "no audio" problem

Hi All,

I had the exact same problem as many of you - no audio from my JX10 after the recent windows mobile upgrade. I followed the instructions below from Jabra technical support EXACTLY. It is important to get both the order of the steps and the times indicated correct. I think I was not paying attention to this and the 1st time or two did not work.

I eventually got it to work and all is well again. Good luck!
************************

From Jabra tech support:

1. Turn the JX10 off.
2. Connect the AC charger or USB cable to a power source.
3. Connect the headset for 5 seconds. Disconnect.
4. Remove the headset from the phone Bluetooth menu. If the phone does not show the headset, just go to Step 5.
5. Turn the phone off.
6. Remove the battery (and sim card, if removable), and hold out for 5 seconds.
7. Re-install the battery (and sim card, if applicable) and turn the phone on, but do not touch any settings.
8. Turn the JX10 on by pressing and holding the phone symbol button until you see a blinking blue light. Release the button.
9. Put the headset into pairing mode by pressing down and holding the pairing button until you see a steady blue light. Release the button.
10. Perform the pairing procedure for the phone.
