Default How do we limit static on headsets????

Hi there,

I'm new here

I've been trying out Bluetooth Headsets this week trying to find one that will work well with my Q. Any one know what the trick is to limit static with these things and make them usable? I do think i'm kinda picky when it comes to my listeners being able to hear me, but this has been ridiculous. So far I have tried the following:

Bluespoon AX2 - horrible . . . each person I called I had to switch off the bluetooth and go back to regular use
Motorola H700 - again . . . no one could hear me
Plantronics Discovery 640 - better, but my husband still complained of garbled sound
Plantronics 510 - better again, but I think its kinda big and I still got some garbled sound . . . although I did have a 15 minute conversation in a quiet room with a friend and she didn't complain about the sound.
Jabra JX10 - still some garbled sound.

I paired the JX10 with my husbands Motorola Razr, and it seemed to work better with his phone. Is there a problem with the bluetooth stack with the Q, or any hints you could share with me.

So frustrated,

Carrie

The two best I have found, and they both work extremely well, are the

Sony Ericsson HBH-IV835: http://store.everythingq.com/content.../9-32--729.htm

and

Nokia BH-900: http://store.everythingq.com/content.../9-32--765.htm

Both of these have exceptional call quality, little to no static at all, and work with voice recognition pretty much flawlessly. If forced to pick 1 of the two, I would have to give the nod to the Nokia simply becuase it 1) has an extendable boom mic for those situations when you really need the mic closer to your mouth, and 2) It goes for 8 hours of talk time on a single charge. If you don't mind having 3 hours of talk time, the Sony is a very handy, very easy to carry around headset that also has outstanding call quality. I have written a review of it in this forum somewhere. The only thing that may put you off about it is that it actually fits IN the ear canal, so if that bothers you, look at the Nokia. If not, it is a darned nice (and reliable) little headset.

As to static, there is little you can do to improve on it. In my experience, a headset either works great, or it has problems that you can't do much about. I own the two headsets I listed above though, and they work _great_ with the Q.
