System Tools or Repair Headset/Stereo Headphones Auto-Connect?

Recently, I purchased a Pioneer DEH-980BT deck for my car, with built-in support for the stereo headset and hands-free profiles.

The deck is set to auto-connect to my Q's hands-free, but never seems to be able to (though I can manually connect just fine). As well, there's no way for the deck to auto-connect to the Q's stereo headset profile.

So my question is this -- has anyone found a way (be it software, settings, or hacks) to have the Q automatically connect itself to a paired headphone/headset in its vicinity?
As it is now, I need to go into Bluetooth Manager, and force a connection to the deck, which is a pain in the arse when I'm constantly getting in and out of my car through the day.

Thanks,
Tersch

My Q automatically connects when the LAST previously paired device comes within its vicinity. I'd look more into the HU than the Q (heh... that rhymes)

Hmm... maybe I'll have to try waiting longer. Didn't seem to do it though.

Thanks!

Default auto-connect when call comes in?

My treo use to auto connect when the call comes in.

Does the Q have such a feature?

I don't like to have my headset on all the time, and I would miss the alerts, since the audio is redirected to the headset.

As far as I'm aware, the phone will automatically connect to a paired hands-free device as soon as it sees one in the vicinity (and not just when a call comes in). I could be wrong, though.

May be it depends on the device. I just connected to my Scala 500 and walked down the hall and it disconnected. When I got back to my desk, it did not reconnect automatically.

I think I resolved my issue though. I see that in the "Advanced Settings", I see an option for "Use Hands-free for standard audio". I think if I uncheck this option, the alerts will come through the speakers instead of the headset.

I wonder how much batter impact there is when you have the bluetooth device connected versus not connected and still having bluetooth on.

I have a JVC KD-BT1 head unit with Bluetooth and my Q autoconnects with it every time I turn my car on. I didn't change any of the stock settings on the phone or head unit to make this happen...

My motorla headset would pair as soon as I turned the headset on until I also paired it with my pc and now it auto connects to the pc and I have to manually pair it.

Your headphones will only automatically connect to the last device they were paired with. There are some headsets/phones now that have to proper service sets programmed into them so that they can connect to multiple devices at the same time. The Moto S9's are like this. I have mine paired to my phone for both phone and music, but if i start playing music on my laptop and have it set to use the bluetooth instead of its speakers, then the headphones will play the music from the computer, but mointor their connection to the phone for calls. if you want your headphones to automatically connect to one device over another, then pair them with the device you do not want to connect automatically first. Then shut them and the first device off. Leaving the first device powered off or not broadcasting a BT signal, begin the pairing process with the device that you want to automatically connect. once this is complete, you can turn the first device on aagain and all should work properly.
