I've tested TomTom Nav with the Holux M1000 and Ipaq rx3100, and it works great.

Curious to know if anyone's tried TomTom software with the Q...

Ok, sorry to bring up a dead link, but I don't know where else to turn. I've tried numerous times to get this to work, and it won't work. I've got the latest google maps, my M-1000 pairs successfully, however, I do notice that an orange light and a blue light keep blinking on and off consistantly. Thus, I cannot get this GPS to work with my Q. Any thing you can think of? I've tried all things suggested in this fourm, the Advanced box, the GPS exe file, NOTHING is working for me.

Sorry, I can't offer any advice. Do you know what the blinking orange and blue lights mean?

Well, the blinking orange lights means it has communicated with a GPS sattellite. But with the blinking blue light it means it is either in standby mode or searching for a device. So, I guess what I really need to know is, what did you all do to get it working with the phone? That seems to be the broken link, is between the phone and the GPS reciever.

Sadly, a master reset fixed my problem. Its good that my GPS works, but I now have to reconfigure everything. Contacts included.

Ugh, I'm hoping to avoid that, but I've pretty much exhausted all of the other options suggested here but to no avail.

Odd thing is, when I first got the receiver last week, it set up w/o a problem and was working fine; then after a few days of non-use I can not seem to get it to communicate with Google maps or any other GPS apps!

If anybody has any other ideas/suggestions that I may have overlooked, I'd love to hear them in hopes of avoiding a hard reset.

Note: the problem is not w/ the receiver, as I can get it to communicate w/ GPS apps on my laptop no problem.

unfortunately it can't be avioded. Whats happening is the phone for some reason has stopped handing out SPP bluetooth ports. The only way to "wake up" that process is to do a hard reset, as far as I know. There's no reason why it does it, but unfortunately thats windows for you.

What made my life easier was setting up the sync profile with outlook. My contacts were back in a flash, and all I had to do was put my sd card back in and she started working. Might be worth setting up even if you never use outlook.

Ahhh, well that would explain why it hasn't made any difference whether or not the 'select new device...' option on the serial ports page was checked.

Thanks for the Outlook backup suggestion as well!

So hard reset it shall be, I guess. I just hope this doesn't end up becoming a routine procedure whenever the GPS is needed.

It did the one time that I tried, but I'm back to square one again and trying to figure out an alternative work around (so far no dice) as I do not want to do a hard reset every time I need to use the GPS.

Anybody who has had better luck, please let us know your secrets!
