Default Globalsat BT359W SiRF Star III Bluetooth GPS

Anyone have any direct experience with this GPS? Just curious. I would really like to have some type of Navi system with my Q, but I don't want to mess with anything like CoPilot that requires me to take my SD card in and out everytime I want to use it (and use thier GPS with it). If I purchased a GPS all alone, what would my software options be for navigation software to work with it? Anyone done this? Just looking for some input.

Thanks,

CG

Default Have used the BT338

Hi, I've used the 338 which is very similar. Actually, I bought CoPilot which is great! Have used it locally and in several other cities. You can order the software from www.buygpsnow.com either just the software or bundled with GPS. I have another phone I use it with and have a 2Gb memory card, but a 1Gb card would also work. You can just put a larger memory card in your Q phone, then store the CoPilot Live 6 maps and maybe program on it. You won't have to take anything in and out. That's only if you buy the card from ALK that has the maps and sw already on it. I loaded the sw on my laptop and then just transfer maps over when I travel.

I'd highly recommend the Globalsat Bluetooth GPS receivers and ALK CoPilot Live software. I understand the 359 receiver may be a little more sensitive and has slightly less run time than the 338, but they are the standard for GPS receivers.

Default

I have a GPS built into my car so I gave up on the whole phone GPS thing. If someone made a self contained unit that fit into my SD slot and didn't require some huge receiver, I would be all over it...
