pdanet is too slow to use with gotomypc. the CAB file is set up for verizon and it will not work with a sprint phone. Been there, done all of that. any other suggestions.
SInce you've apparenty already tried some things, why not say what you have tried so we don't suggest somthing you already experimented with. Might also help to say how it didn't work...
What exactly to you mean PdaNet is too slow? The speeds you achieve with PdaNet are the fastest speeds you are going to be able to get with your device (USB DUN is obviously capable of achieving faster speeds than BT DUN). It even has a Boost EVDO Speed setting that can help it get the fastest speeds possible. If you aren't happy with the speed you got from PdaNet, you aren't going to be happy with tethering speeds.
prior to the Q, I was using a samsung a920 with evdo and connecting via bluetooth dun. my connection speeds were much faster than the 2.4 kps that I am getting from a tethered pdanet connection. when you use gotomypc with pdanet the mouse lags and you are not controlling your host computer in real time. With the samsung the control of the host computer was instantaneous without any lag. I love the Q and all its features but really need the dun feature when I am working away from the office and using gotomypc.
2.4 kbps is WAY too slow. Something is definitely wrong there. I typically get 300-400 kbps with BT DUN on PdaNet using the Boost EVDO Speed settings. I'd try rebooting your PC and phone, and try it again.
I suspected it was really slow. I will try it. are there any particular settings that need to be tweaked at either the pc or phone end? are you actually able to use bluetooth on a sprint q with pdaNet?
I didn't change any settings except selection the Boost EVDO Speed setting on the PC side. If I connect to Activesync over BT, PdaNet will recognize a device connected and will allow me to DUN.
got the Q to work via bluetooth with pdanet and it is now working as bluetooth dun. its working at a decent speed now. just out of curiosity what is the top end speed using this method?
