Are there any other new 3 series owners that are able to use voice commands to dial names from the phonebook???
I am able to scroll through my phonebook in the radio using the controls in the steering wheel, so my phonebook is in the car's system...but....when I attempt to make a voice commanded call, the system says my phonebook is empty.
Sorry for the long post, just didnt want to leave too much out.
BT works perfectly for me other than the voice command issue. |
I have the 2006 330i, and I use the voice command constantly. It doesn't use the voice command on your phone, but rather has its own tag. It is the old school version where you record your voice (not recognition). I don't remember where the option was off the top of my head, but it should be in your manual. You need to record the name in your voice and then type in the number in the BMW. This is done regardless of phone. Now when you are paired, you can dial a name by voice and it will send the number to your phone to dial. It works great aside from having to record the names and numbers the first time. Again, it is not due to the Q, as I had the same process with my Treo. It says the phonebook is empty because you have not recorded anything yet.
