Can't get Desktop Bluetooth to see Storage Card - Motorola Q Forum

It will not access my storage card. The only folder that comes up is the My Pictures folder on the phone and then a few mp4 files and thats it. Is this common?

Maybe a better question is can I get my desktop bluetooth plug-in to initiate the same active sync that pops up when I plug a cable in?

with the card in the Q ? my storage card (mini SD) shows up as a folder under the root.

Its weird. The only folder that comes up is "My Pictures" and then 3 individual mp4's: intriguing.mp4, future.mp4, nova.mp4.

The software is called "IVT Corporation BlueSoleil" I'm assuming that's the problem....

i don't know this software so i can't say.. did you try Active Sync ?

My work computer doesn't use XP so active sync is out for bluetooth.

My IT guy thinks the problem is with the Q and what folder it is allowing it to share which is appearantly only "My Documents" which has nothing in it but My Pictures until you get to the storage card.

His smartphone has a feature where you can select what folders to share but the basic menus on the Q dont provide any options for that.

So I need to find a way to tell the phone to share more.

So you don't see the "Mobile device" in active sync or under my computer? Once I double click that, I can then find my storeage card.

I'm not able to use bluetooth to open active sync on my work computer since the OS is Windows 2000 Professional.

I think the software that came with my bluetooth adapter is crap anyway, so I got a docking cradle for work and am able to use the bluetooth adapter to open active sync at home where my OS is XP.

Good enough.

Ok,

so I will explain what I see and hopefully this helps. In the root I see My pictures and a link to 'Mobile Device' If I click on Mobile Device I see a lot of folders, one of which is storage card (as Stealth said). It is there but does not show in the original root (or first view). It is not a question of sharing.

If you have to have it in the root . . browse as defined above and create a shortcut then copy it to the root.

Now all that is through AS. if you do not see a link to your Mobile Device through another program, are you getting into any folders other than My pictures?

no that doesn't sound right at all.... i use the usb cable but still, you only see the "My Documents" directory ?
