I was on the phone with a Rep, he told me it's not that Verizon doesn't allow teathering, they don't support it on devices they don't offer it on. Because they can't guarentee the quality or support it. I really asked a lot of qustions about it, because I know they have a TOS about tethering, but he kept insisting I could use my Q as a modem if I had a program that enabled DUN on it. I'm going to use it, but for nothing more then some basic IM'ing, I know they can see when you're teathering, even if you're just idle online, a PC is constantly sending/receving data so the bandwidth will be obvious. I hope they don't can me for light usage. Especially since the Rep assured me it's fine as long as I don't want their support

Default Disconnect due to inactivity?

I got the tethering working no problem, but I keep getting disconnected. The error message says it is due to inactivity on the other end.

Yes. It was disabled by Verizon. They want you to pay $15/month to use that feature.

I had this working great but I just upgraded my phone with the latest software from Motorola. This upgrade resets everything, after the reset I noticed DUN was already enabled ... I paired the bluetooth but when I dial #777 it is demanding a username/password?

any thoughts?

thanks

I found this on their site. The Treo 700p is the only PDA/Smartphone that allows teathering.

Default Worked great until I installed the latest Q OP system.

This worked great a couple weeks ago. Last night I installed the latest Q op system and now I can't get it to work. I re-installed the CAB, etc, but when I try the ##.... I just get a verizon error message.

Any thoughts?

The DUN package only works on the original firmware. With the revised firmware you either pay vzw $15/mo or buy pdanet for $30.
