Informative Buy the Aliph Jawbone. The best headset ever!!!

Hello all
I just purchased the new Aliph Jawbone Bluetooth headset for my Q and I have to say it is hte best headset I have ever owned. I have owned several Sony Ericsens, Jabra, Plantronic including the new 655, and Motorola H700 and this one hands down is the best one out there. It is a little pricy at $120, but you will never have to worry about background noise or hearing the other person. Here is an example of the tests I conducted. I called my dad and asked him how I sounded. He said Fine. I then put my head in front of a House fan on High and he never once heard the fan or wind noise. I then turned the noise shield off and her could not hear my talking to him. He was amazed on how clear I was. Check out Aliph.com for their tests with items such as jackhammers. Its amazing. Second if you buy one don’t buy it off eBay, They are going for over $200 right now buy it directly form Aliph or any corporate Cingular Store. you won't be disappointed with this one. Its amazing how it works. check out the site for the technical explanation. Its worth every penny.

There are several reports that it does not appear to pair with the Q consistently.

Default Problems with the Jawbone

I purchases the Jawbone from a Cingular store today and after charging and pairing I have had some problems with it and the Q. The connection seems intermittent at best. The first few calls seem to maintain connection just fine. After that, the connection gets lost and you must disconnect and reconnect your Jawbone with the Q. This seems pretty consistent as I have been playing with it for about 5 hours straight now. I'm not all that impressed with the design of the Jawbone either. Seems they used some weird kind of ear loop that because of the design actually pulls the jawbone away from your ear. It has a tendancy to get loose and fall if you'r even semi active. After walking around the house I found mine dangling a few times. You can bend the loop to get a better fit but they really should have thought about this during the design phase. Their is also about a 3 second delay between the time you press the answer button and when the caller can hear you. That's pretty annoying. (Incoming call, Press answer button; 1 one thousand...2 one thousand...3 one thousand...Hello?) I'm probably going to return it. All in all I'm not that impressed with it. For 120 bucks I expected alot more.

I have had mine for some time now and continue to have problems with it, I sent an email to Jawbone with a descriptions of the problems and this is thier reply

"
The Bluetooth
® technology in Jawbone® is designed to work seamlessly with any Bluetooth enabled handset. Even though Bluetooth is a universal standard, not all Bluetooth is created equal – certain CDMA phones (e.g. phones found on Sprint and Verizon Wireless) can under perform when compared to certain phones found on GSM networks such as Cingular.
We have specifically optimized our headset to work flawlessly with all phones on the Cingular Wireless Network. While Jawbone is known to work well with many CDMA phones, there are a number of CDMA phones on the Verizon and Sprint networks which will experience issues regarding sound quality and pairing.
Jawbone is working fast and furiously to resolve these compatibility problems with CDMA phones – if you experience any problem using your Jawbone on a CDMA phone we would appreciate hearing from you and learning exactly what you experienced. Our expectation is by late June or early July we will release a CDMA version of Jawbone to resolve all known problems.
In the meantime, if you are unhappy with the performance of your Jawbone and use Jawbone on a CDMA network (e.g. Verizon or Sprint), we suggest you return Jawbone to your place of purchase within the allotted 30 day return window.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding,
The Aliph Customer Support Team"

I am very disappointed, I was really hoping it would workout or have an easy fix. Now I have to find something else.

What kind of connection problems are you having? I have sme small issues but the bebefits far outweight these small inconveniences. Here is a recap of what it does with my Sprint Q
1. Sometimes when I make a call to lets say voice mail. Then dissconnect, then make a call with in a few seconds it will not connect immediatly. It will take a few seconds but will always connect.
2. When I answer call via the headset. It does not let you know when it is connected with a tone so there is this uncomfortable sincle for a few seconds.

Other than these tow small issues, It works great for me.

When I make or recieve a call it will randomly not hand off to the ear piece. so you never know when to be using the phone or ear piece, then within 30 seconds to a minute it will transfer back to the ear piece. It has great sound and volume, and a good fit. But I just cant be guessing when to usa the phone or ear piece. This is becoming a bigger problem with most cdma pda's. I went to the cingular store where i bought it and they said " Oh now it wont work with cdma phones" then they became really rude and refused to return it. I will go without a cell phone before using cingular.

Read my Post about the AX2 that I bought. Works great. No pairing issues. Most people think I am talking through the phone(even while driving). And the volume is fantastic. I actually had to turn it down.

Very pleased with the jawbone! Does anyone know if they sell a case for the headset or does anyone have sugesstions on how to store this? I keep mine in my pocket and actually came very close to crushing it a few times.

Thanks for your help
