I was excited to try the Jawbone in my convertible after hearing a first hand rave review of the headset.
Today I lucked out and bought the only one in stock @ the Cingular store near my office. They didn't get a shipment and had no idea how they had one in stock.
Anyway, I hate to report that I'm having the same issues. Many times I'll initiate a call via Voice Recognition and the call will be connected for a few seconds before I realize it's connected on the handset and not on the Jawbone. Then, the phone and Jawbone will both ring, I'll hit the answer button on the Jawbone, but the audio will go to the phone and not to the Jawbone.
These things appear to be temporarily fixed by a power cycle of the Jawbone, but not for long.
Now a note about the noise cancelling, at times people tell me I might as well be speaking indoors and that it sounds great even though I'm sitting at a signal light w/ the top down. However, when I begin driving, people tell me they can hear wind noise, but it's not too bad. However, as many have complained, I can't really hear very well. I'm thinking a Jabra eargel might improve this. (Basically, it's good, but not a miracle.)
It's funny that Aliph blames this on CDMA, I was told long ago that CDMA phones would never have BT due to incompatabilities between the technologies. I'm thinking they eventually found ways to work it out, but not perfectly. This makes a lot of sense.
I also heard earlier today from a Cingular rep that Motorola BT is flaky.
Who knows, could be a lot of things, but it's very interesting to hear Aliph mention a "CDMA" version.
If I can't get things to improve via some resets and/or updates in the next couple of days, I'll be returning the Jawbone.
