Bluetooth headset and voice dialing issues. Please Help!
This is driving me insane so any help would be welcome.
I have a Sprint Moto Q. I've had it for 1 month. I previously had a Nextel phone with bluetooth and had purchased a Moto HS850 bluetooth headset for the Nextel. The Nextel has gone away and now I have the Q.
I've paired the HS850 headset with the Q and everything works fine except for one thing. When I push the button on the headset to activate the voice recognition software for voice dialing, the sound (a woman's voice saying "Say a command.") comes out over the phone and not through the bluetooth headset. I say the name, and it hears me through the blue tooth because it asks me to confirm by repeating my request.
This has become annoying as hell. Each time I use it, it communicates with me through the phone speaker (rather loudly) as I talk to it through the headset. I'd like to be the only one hearing the voice through my headset and not the world around me hearing it.
I've searched several forums for a solution with no help. The manuals for the phone and the headset offer no help. I can't find any settings on the phone to adjust this.
Please help. I like the headset (always have) and would rather not buy a new one.
On my Q9h, there is a check box setting under the Bluetooth headset device to "play regular sounds" through the blue tooth headset or not ie. music. I unchecked it and music came through the phone and call through the head set.
I had the same headset and could pair it with the Q, but it wouldn't do anything else. The tech at my USCC store said the 8750 headset didn't have the 'power' or something that the 'newer' headsets have. I got a new headset, and no probs.
