Default Bluetooth GPS stopped working?

Here is the skinny.

I have a standard black motorola q, a holux gps slim 240, garmin mobile xt and google maps. All have been working up untill yesterday? Now, the gps pairs and is seen but does not work with any gps applications. I have master reset, tried to install same results. I have tried some gps "hacks" going around and none of them work. Its like the bluetooth serial port is no longer functioning. I tested the gps on a laptop via bluetooth and it works fine?

Letely the error i get when accessing the gps is...

"No Bluetooth serial ports could be found for device HOLUX GPSLIM240"

I followed the steps from this site, and still no luck?

anyone have any further suggestions?

What do you see when you go to:

Bluetooth Manager
Settings
Menu
Serial Ports

Check the Outbound COM Port number and make sure that's set in the Google Maps correctly.

Mine says COM1

Can you use Bluetooth for any other device (handsfree or ActiveSync for example)?

Could be that your BT died.

Bluetooth headset still works fine? What can I do to test the "bluetooth serial" outside of the gps, say connecting to the pc ect.. But then again how could that die, its virtual? wouldnt a master reset fix that?

** SOLVED **

Turned out to be the GPS, however the GPS is not defective. Something sent a command to the unit causing it to have a protocol and baud out of sync issue. This was stored in the ram of the reciever, the fix required that i take the reciever apart and disconnect the battery. Once reconnected and put back together, it started working again.
