Question Bluetooth fears and Black Q

You guys are freaking me out. My fiancé had a razr "c" by verizon and the Bluetooth with an H500 was horrible. Not to mention the other problems that that model razr had. Verizon gave her an LG VX8300 and she’s had 0 problems.

Well now I've got a black Q and from what I understand Verizon was supposed to free up some of the Bluetooth issues. I really hope that’s true because I need a Bluetooth headset. Having never had a BT headset before I don’t have anything to compare to and I’m not about to drop some green on a product that "kinda works" or "only works most of the time".

Is there any hope for flawless BT usage on a black Q? I was having high hopes for the jawbone but the review a couple threads down doesn’t paint a beautiful picture.

I still have 15 days to return the Q back to verizon.

Don't return the Q. Just make sure that you can return your BT headset if it's not to you're liking. Headsets react differently to each and every phone.

I was leaning toward the Jawbone like I said. I guess i'll pop into that thread and see which Q they were talking about. But in general, isnt the black Q supposed to have better bluetooth compatibility? or did I totally make that up?

I've owned the q for about 6 months now and the h500 bt headset almost the same. The h500 works well with the q. Only issue I've experienced is no warning when the headset battery is running low. One second your talking the next nothing. Headset turns off and the phone picks up. When it happens it takes me a second or two to figure out what happened.

Default plantronics

Heres the real deal i have used and loved all the plantroics discovery headsets, from the 640, 645,655 to currently 665.. The 665 is sweet i would recommend you check into that model, it is the latest... i just bought the 665 through data vision store on ebay.. i got it six days later and works great so far as expected..

Never had any problems with my moto H500, HT820, or even the DC 820 stereo adapter.

I have h500 , used it with my razor , it worked perfect , I got the black Q and it was dropping calls like crazy , went to verizon and they gave me a new Q , still have some issues with BT

i can call someone and it would take 30-40 sec to connect to BT even if the setting show BT

i can hang up and get a new call and the same would happen ,

any suggestions , does anyone have a BT device that connect very good to the black Q - ( i prefer something as small as the h500 , and not plantronics my ears hurt after awhile wearing them )

well its looking like I am gonna go the jabra route (8010) because I need both an ear piece and stereo headphones. they're modular so its easy to swap between functions. Unfortunately there aren't many people with that particular model so I don't really have any idea as to how its gonna behave. gotta cross my fingers.

Just to throw my 2 cents in, I have the Scala 700, and it works like a champ. The good thing about the Q is that it supports the newer BT standard, so make sure you get a headset that does the same. This will provide:

(1) extended battery life during BT sessions
(2) Quicker connection to the headset once in-range/powered on
(3) Consistent connection -- no more mid-call dropoffs.
