Question BLUETOOTH EXPERTS HELP - big headset issue

i have a h350 headset and a new sprint q. basically, i use the headset when i am around the house and in the car, but not when i am walking down the street or at the office. but i always carry my headset with me. sometimes i use it, sometimes not. the issue is, if the headset is around, the phone always seems to autoconnect with it. so if a call rings in and i pick up JUST the HANDSET and try to use it, i cant. the only way to do it is to answer the call and then go to "menu - turn headset off" which takes so long that the other person on the call has usually hung up by then.

another option is turn the bluetooth headset off and on 50 times a day. OR another option seems to be turning the bluetooth functionality off on the phone when i dont want to use the headset, but this too is a pain to do 50 times a day and there doesnt seem to be a quick shortcut to do it.

i used to have a treo 650 and a hs820 headset and it was better because i could pick up the handset and use it anytime and it wouldnt autoconnect to the headset unless i pushed the button on the headset. OR i could just push the button on the headset to answer the call and it would connect of course...it gave me options which i liked.

let me know if you guys have a similar dillemma and what you have done about it. this may be a deal breaker for me and ill have to go back to my treo. but id rather make it work and keep the Q! thanks in advance for your help!

Default Have you considered another headset like the Motorola H700?

I really like my Sprint Motorola Q, and if I was having the same problem... I'd try to find a way to make it work well enough so that I could keep the Q. Perhaps a different headset would solve your problems.

The Motorola H700 (or a device like it) doesn't require you to press and hold a button to turn it off and on. Instead, you simply fold the microphone back up against the headset and it turns itself off. Unfold it, and it's back on. In addition to that, the headset is lightweight and provides solid performance. It may just be what you're looking for if you're willing to buy another headset.

It's a simple and easy way to quickly turn off the headset and to conserve battery life as well. With the headset turned off in your pocket simply answer the call with your handset and your problems are gone. Unfold the headset, and you get similar options as you say you had before.
