Default Bluetooth Car Kit

Hey all. My first post here. I have had my Q for a month or so and really love it. I am needing some advice. I want to get a hands free kit for my car to use with the Q. I have an aftermarket Kenwood DDX-7019 in my 2006 Acura MDX. I tried the Kenwood bluetooth adapter but, it does not offer voice recognition and it would not find the Q when I start the car. I had to go in to the Q and select the Kenwood every time. So I returned it. I wanted to use the Parrot CK3200 but have been reading about several problems using it with the Q. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good kit that will work well with the Q using US Cellular? Or is anyone using the Parrot kits with good sucess? Thanks. Great forum!!

I've used 2 Parrot kits, CK3100 and CK3000 and they were both awesome!

Highly recommend that company for BT handsfree, you won't regret it.

I think the only time people have problems is when they try to do the wiring without purchasing a kit.

Check out:

Definitely worth it, makes it a plug and play install.

Thanks for the tip. I had been looking at both of those kits but read about the problems and was a little weary. I will actually be using mine with an aftermarket Kenwood indash screen. I may have to get one and give it a try. Thanks so much.

I guess I can't say for certain with yours, but on mine (both GM's) it was painless.

2004 Escalade and a 2001 Silverado, one Bose one non-Bose.

Throwing an aftermarket sytem into the mix could throw things off, but I would recommend calling their help line... they really ARE helpful.

Best of luck!

I am hoping it is not too much of a problem. My Kenwood has a mute wire for cell phone hookup. My main thing is listening to the stereo at a pretty good volume and not being able to hear my phone when it rings. My Acura has bluetooth in the factory radio that worked great but, I rarely keep factory radios in and go full blown aftermarket. Kenwood makes a Bluetooth kit and the Q works but, you have to do a search from the Q every time I start the car and it has no voice support at all. Since the Parrot kit's get such good reviews, I may just get one and hope for the best. I will just need to find one at a local place where I can return it if it does not work. I am really liking the CK3200 with it's picture display capability. Thanks again. At least I know it can work with the Q.

Yep, both mine work great with the Q.

The only other piece of information I can pass along is to turn down the phone volume and let the Parrot take over. If your phone volume is all the way up (earpiece) it seems to make the sound 'tinny'.

Other than that, enjoy.

Never tried it but I wouldn't hesitate to try Parrots deck, looks pretty sweet.
