There is a 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\S erial\Ports' with a value 'SupportedPorts' and a list of ports COM0 through COM9.
My phone was setup in the PC with COM17 as the incoming. I added this value to the registry and rebooted the phone but still nothing.
Couldn't find how to change the COM port value in the PC (uninstalling and re-installing only gets even higher numbered COM ports).
Any ideas? |
Ok, what worked for me is that I put the same Comport number off my phone into the system registry but under "'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Window s CE Services\serial port\COM1 (Like my phone)" Now what I think your missing is that this string is located in the System Register ON YOUR PC, not your phone. (you may want to reboot first after doing the system register changes)
Once set, then I turn my BT on my phone and open up the BT connection on my PC and search for my phone. once my phone is found as a new BT device on my PC I finish the install.
THEN...I search for my PC network connection on my phone (Via BT) and make sure it shows a connection on my PC, once connected NOW I'm ready to try Active Sync on my phone.
I disconnect the network connection on my phone (You don't need that to active sync, its just a way to make sure your BT is set up correctly (At least for me.))
I open up WMDC on my PC and execute Activesync on my phone (Via BT) and walla, it works

Now every once in a while I get this stupid connection error if I have left my PC running for days but rebooting my PC always fixes it. (no biggie)
