 |  verizon+alltel mentioned in phone bill I just got my bill a day or so ago and it mentioned the Verizon purchase. It is the first thing I have gotten from them directly mentioning the merger. Anyone else get this info or any details besides the basic info of "all is well and nothing will change"?

| I was told I was told that ALLTEL was buy verizion this upcoming year. They will be under one umbrella but still be 2 different companies...and Alltel then can move into areas like Dallas and set up shop..in the same stores as Verizion.. Alltel can move into Dallas because there is no room. This is what the guys at the Alltel store were telling me. And this will make Alltel the largest telcom network in the states Quote:

 | the way the articles read was that verizon was buying alltel (and absorbing a large chunk of their debt), but it will end up the same regardless
