I'm new to the forums so First off hello and hi. I Just bought my Q yesterday from Alltel and have scoured the net trying to find this info and after some trial and error I got it. Set your DUN to dial #777 with no user name or password and you'll get on. I connect at 240Kbps but have also gotten 115 at times.

just discovered it works with BT as well, I'm posting this using bluetooth.

Sorry for the ignorance, but what is the DUN. I'm guessing you are talking about using your q as a modem. and could you please explain to me how to get to the DUN. Thanks

DUN is Dial-up Networking. In the control panel click on Internet Options, go to the connections tab and click add. Use #777 for the number to dial leaving the user and password blank. on your Q, activate the modem link then plug in the usb cable.

If you are using bluetooth you don't have to activate the modem link, if you start dialing the connection your bluetooth services should automatically start dialup networking. With this you can dail into the net and use activesync at the same time.

Do you have to pay to use this for Alltel? I have a Q from Alltel as well and have an unlimited data plan on my Q, but do I need an extra charge on my bill to use this?

I work for Alltel. No you do not need anything extra. It is included into your Smart Choice Plan. You have a code on your account call amlc: Axcess Mobile Link Choice. You are able to use your Q as your high speed internet via the cable that came in the box or via Bluetooth.

There IS a $10.00 base monthly charge for DUN included in the Unlimited data use plan. so technically it does cost a base fee, but you can use it as much as you want. :D so you might as well use it!

With all due respect, why muddy the water with a statement like that? The Unlimited Data Plan is all inclusive of a number of features and benefits and to confuse someone who's new just to, in my humble opinion, wave the "look what I know" flag seems a touch overkill and a bit unneccesary.

Not trying to offend, just making a statement.
