New problem with my Q... It freezes up alot so I took it in. They tried to update it with new software but the phone will not even update. So a new one is being sent to me in the mail. I guess there is a software update to fix some issues with the original release of the phone.

Hey guys, if you are using your Q heavily then you need to get an extended life battery, the standard will only give you about 4 hours of talk time, less heavy usage with applications. Alot of problems with phones can be fixed by simply power cycling the phone by removing the battery and then putting it back in. You wouldn't believe how many people think we are absolutely amazing for fixing their phones, and that's all we do. Ha Ha. But we also make a powerpod for the phone, it is about the size of a pager, and holds two full phone charges, compatible with a Q, and all other mini usb phones, such as the razr/blackberry/krazr, etc. It is a particularly good deal in that the powerpod costs $49.99, and we sell the extended life battery costs 69.99, and also makes the phone thicker, as it comes with a new back cover. Hope this helps.

I "powercycle" the phone atleast once a week. Does not do much on the Q.

Hey all!

Hopefully someone can direct me to my next step in the line of Q's that I have bombing.

Here is the lowdown: I am on my 4th Q in 2 months. 1st Q was replaced the day I got it, the 'L' key did not work. So then I goo my second one (the same day), which worked all fine and well for abotu 6 weeks, and then the D-Pad, right select key, shift buttons, and 'M' went to craps.

They sent me the 3rd one, that one worked all of a day, and then it would lockup at random, or after I disconnected from a call.

4th Q arrived yesterday, and this one has, to a lesser extent D-pad issues where at random the 'up' will dial a 9, act as a select, or the 'left' will type an 'n'. These are totally at random.

So, Should I call in to Alltel this time and get an account rep? Or should I continue to take it in to the Alltel office? I am upset about this because it seems to be a keyboard error on all of them...and I am not getting anywhere. I am tempted to just go and get another phone, and drop the smartphone package - not that the Q is a smartphone anyhow..I cant even MMS! Any suggestions? I am open to anything!
