I updated... it went very smoothly, but I'm not really noticing any improvements.

Honestly, i had really good luck with my battery life and stability before the update - right out of the box. I mostly decided to do this update because i'm hoping the new PRL which allows us alltel Q users to hop onto Sprint EV will be available soon, as it is for the data cards and treo users. I travel a lot, and could really benefit from having EV data speeds more often. Alas, that PRL hasn't been pushed out yet, so i'm just here waiting.

Yep I updated too. My update was straight forward with no surprises (I did do a soft reset before beginning the process) Nothing noteworthy to report on changes however but it has only been 12 hours and I was sleeping 8 of those 12 so we will see what the day holds!

Default Ive noticed improvements after mol3 update

So I downloaded the mol3 update and have noticed some improvements. Internet browsing speed is much better than before. I dont think the speed is because of the network (still 1x) but rather improved browser cache speed. I also like the phone as modem icon in the start menu. You can just open it up and set up phone as modem much easier than before. As far as battery life well, I havent noticed much improvement but then, I can now browse at faster speeds so ive been able to watch videos that actualy stream where as before they just froze so ive been using my phone more. I surfed for about 30 min and watched 15 min worth of streaming video last night and 24 hours later, I have 2 bars of battery left so I guess thats an improvement. Otherwise, everything is about the same.

Smile so..

Let me get this straight. If someone would be so kindly as to help me out.
Updating the phone will remove your third party programs that you installed?
Any registry edits i have done (ie speed hack etc...) will have to be done again?
No one has really replied on the battery life, is this improved??(i just have the battery that came with the phone)
Can the camera see through clothes now? haha
Will my contacts, pictures, and videos (internal memory stuff) still be there?

there have been mixed results on the longevity of your settings, programs, etc. reg edits will most definitely go away, some may not be needed anymore.

I did the update shortly after getting the phone so I did a master reset and then updated it. At this point I have sprite backup and would recommend something like that to ensure you don't lose everything.

They have a specific box to click to address software upgrades to the phone

Hope this helps

Shawn
