Default Do you hate Alltel?

Am I the only one who hated Alltel? They are slow as molasses on the phones, if I ever have a question about my Q forget about asking Alltel, they are slow on the updates, I could go on. I must say the plans are alright, and coverage does kick arse here in Tampa. But like someone else said in another thread...They got the Q a month before the replacement was due. That's rediculous. Am I going to have to wait a year to get my Q9?

I must say I agre with you that the plans are good but what good does a bunch of minutes do when u only get one bar of signal at best? I live in a valley and a competitor (unicel) put in a tower on top of the water tower to fix it. Will altell just man up and ink an agreement?? Of course not. So I get the same run around (were aware of the problem sir and were working on it... no I dont have a time frame of when it will be fixed...mol3 update..what is that sir...no i dont know what you are talking about...sir calm down sir.. all i can do is verify the phone settings are correct...no I dont do email youll have to call back later... So the cust. service pretty much sux too. The rep did say that alltel phones look for verizon towers first, then sprint second when alltel signal is low so maybe when verizon takes over unicel next year my signal will improve. I called the state public utilities commision and lodged a complaint that i'm stuck in a contract and not getting the service i'm paying for but i'm not expecting much out of that. Hate is a strong word and I'll just say i'm very dissatisfied with alltel right now.

Well Florida is pretty flat and densly populated so there are towers all over. I get a great signal all over the state. It's the technology thing that gets me. They are almost as bad as that Jitterbug phone for seniors!

LOL used to live in st. pete back in the day when att wireless had cust. service here in the states and the network was tdma! At least alltels cust. service is here in the states even if they don't help very much! It seems the midwest (south dakota) is pretty much dominated by alltel but verizon bought out unicel so i guess theyll be making an entry into the rural market very soon. Verizon is pretty overpriced but i guess they have to be in order to afford all these network aquisitions. When my contract is up, i will switch to whoever controls this water tower cell tower so i can get in home signal. alltel tried to sell me a 200 dollar signal booster when i went into the fargo north dakota store to complain about signal strength. wtf????

I agree, i have Alltel here in Nebraska. I just hate seeing these commercials for all these cool phones, and just know that Alltel will never get it, or get it once its pretty much obsolete. I must admit I never heard of the Q until i was walking by an alltel store. I must admit that i am more than pleased with it. The only shitty thing is that the cheapest plan alltel has for the phone is still pretty damn expensive.

Well honestly ever since I got my Q I look at all these other phones, like the Verizon one with the flippy screen or all these flip phones the providers hype up so much, and I laugh. They really are garbage compared to a Q. I will never buy anything less.

I got the Q after being told all the wonderful things it would do. I have been happy with it except for the no mms. I got a card from the store to fill out a survey. After doing so I got a call from the manager from the store yelling at me for giving their store a bad review. I was honest in the review. It took over 30 minutes to be helped. The rep had not time to show us how to use the phone. He told us it would have mms. I even told him that it was important to me to have mms and asked several times about it. I guess I should have researched it before taking his word for it. I ordered different phones online initially and traded them in at the store and the manager said it was people like me that made the store not aloud to trade the phone in and I should have done it online. If I was told to do it online I would have. I didn't know they were doing any favors for me. I also didn't know that once you got a smartphone you could not go back in plans only forward with better smartphones. So not only can I not get mms on the q I can't trade for a phone that has mms. I can't believe they have this survey that doesn't make the info blind to the store as to who is filling it out so that I can call you back and yell at you. Isn't that the point of the survey. If I got crappy help at the store then they should receive poor grades!! I called Alltel and they told me I would have to write a letter to corprate to get anything done about it. Other then that I love the Q just not the service I received from the store...
