I saw this problem a lot in the ISP database side of things. Or errors like this, anyways. It was usually the cause of a corrupted database entry. Whether its on your service provider's side or his, I couldn't say. You'd probably just have to troubleshoot to see.
But somewhere in some database it probably had his phone number listed as a land line before he got that # and its never been fully converted over somehow.
Not real specific answer but since I've never worked on a cell phone company's database, I really couldn't say what it would be for sure. |
