There's a folder in the root called
Storage Card. That's your MiniSD card.
Make sure you push the card in until it clicks. Sometimes it will seem to stay put, but isn't actually connected.
If that doesn't work, you should tell us what kind of card you got and how big it is. Some 4 GB MiniSD cards don't work well with the Q and none of the SDHC cards will work.
