So, here's what's happened:
-I had a Q. I synched it with my WMDC 32-bit no problem.
-My Q broke (internal charging mechanism went). My provider gave me a new one. Same Windows Mobile OS Version.
The new one won't sync. Here's what I've done:
-Completely uninstalled and reinstalled WMDC.
-Unchecked the "enable advanced functionality" box on the Q itself.
Here's what I see:
-The "Sync" section on the Q simply reads: "To sync with a desktop computer, install ActiveSync on your computer and then connect this device." (even when connected) It will not let me click the Sync button to try and force it.
-On my computer, the WMDC program shows "connecting" for a little while, then it shows "error". There's nothing to click on to make it try again or to see what the error is.
-In the "device manager" window on my PC, it seems to recognize the phone as being an MP3 player, as it gives me the option to "sync using Windows Media Player" but I have no option to force it to sync in a different way.
If I delete the "Microsoft USB Sync" driver, then re-plug-in the phone, it just reinstalls the "Microsoft USB Sync" driver, and WMDC still shows "error" after trying to connect for awhile.
Are there any suggestions on fixing this? I swear, I'll go crazy if I can't get it to sync soon, and providers are the WORST for helping you (i.e. if it's actually a phone malfunction) since I'm trying to connect the phone to an unapproved OS.
I swear, I'll send a year's supply of Pocky to anyone who can make this work for me!
Thanks,
Sandra
P.S. My Vista Home Premium is completely up-to-date. |
You didn't load ActiveSync on Vista did you? You don't need to, and from what I've read, it'll screw things up....
