First off, welcome and thanks for the post.

We have discussed this a ton in the past and I think the final conclusion we came to was that there is no "independent" firmware version for Q9h and all of them are branded in some way for someone.

I bought mine direct from Moto with no service and they still sent me the branded AT&T Q9h but it was unlocked at least. But now I am told that if they ever release the 6.1 update, it will end up locking it even though it was unlocked to begin with which I think is total bullshit. Hopefully they will account for that when they release that.

If anyone has an update on this matter, I would love to hear it but I think for all practical purposes, we have all pretty much given up on that and playing the waiting game.
