Cindra, thanks again for giving me the 'search phrase' I needed here. I'm still so new and sometimes you don't quite know what to plug into the search thingie, especially when you're not really quite sure what the problem is anyway! 
And it 'does' appear to be a problem unique to the Q9h, which starts out with a ringtone limit of 600kb, which AT&T knocks down to 300kb. Upping that was really essential to me. I'm into movie soundtracks and most of those are large files anyway.

Once you said you had the 9h, I figured that was your problem since I also went through the headache of that size limitation, too!
