Good thinking but I'm not sure it's that. I have a song on my memory card that didn't have ID3 info and the phone just showed it by filename.

I just took a spare memory card I have and inserted it into my enV2 without the proper folder names and it does the same thing you are reporting... that option does nothing. I really think that might be the problem. My phone sees the card (just like you said). I just created a folder called MY_MUSIC on the card and it worked again. Good luck.
