If it is not powering it when it's about half charged I think it's because Apple used to have motherboards that did not provide enough power over USB to charge a device. I am not 100% sure that the G4 is that way but I know if it was 2005 or before I don't think it will. It would only charge over firewire. You could buy a powered USB hub and plug that into your G4. |
