That first picture is so cool.
I met Greg Boyington's cousin in the Grand Rapid airport years ago. And I installed a system for Sony in Miami and one of the Sony guys I worked with for the install was on the island with Greg (Pappy), and was a mechanic team member with "Red" depicted in the Black Sheep TV shows.
I just liked the speed of the F4U. The thing was just flat out fast. Most fighter pilots want speed over all other capabilities.Toward the end of the war when the japs knew it was over the Americans used the F4Us to chase down kamikases because it was fast enough to catch -and shoot down- planes that were in a suicide dive.
Freaking impressive speed, and control...
I have some work to get done tonight, but later I'll mess with a screen based on some of the templates I have.
