I just verified that what you are saying is correct, even with the phone locked you can answer an incoming call. Not sure if there are any more secure options or not, none that I've found.
However, it sounds like you either:
a. Need a new boyfriend who won't snoop
b. Need to quit doing whatever you don't want him to know about!
