Hey, Cheri. My daughter Bari is on her schools Legislation Committee, and their purpose is lobbying the state capitol to keep funds in the schools. It is only a select couple of kids who get on the committee, based on grades, attitude, and teacher recommendations.

The group was supposed to go up to Albany (the state capitol) about 2 months ago, to lobby and meet with legislators/senators and possibly the governor to ask questions and discuss state aid. The day of her trip was the day the sh** hit the fan for Governor Spitzer (now ex-Governor Spitzer), so the trip was cancelled!

Hopefully, you'll have better luck with your endeavors!

By the way, how did your son's IEP go? Is he getting all the services he needs? One of these days, I'll pm you on my son's story...
