And that's why I love being a soldier. My unit (yes, the band does go to war) helped in the liberation of Luxemburg 64 years ago (specifically a town called Wiltz). We even have a chapter in their history books! My unit was ordered to hold Wiltz to give Patton time to reinforce Bastogne. Unfortunately (being a band) they didn't fare too well against the German Armor. The roster at the beginning of the day had 40 people, by the end of the day it had 8.
When I was ofer there in 2004 to commemorate the 60th anniversary of their liberation there were still people who cried at the sight of the red keystone on my shoulder.
