Who needs bluetooth? Instead of spending 100 dollars on a bluetooth receiver, I thought I'd go to radioshack and buy an adapter so that i'd be able to plug the aux input from my car stereo into my q9m. This way, or so I thought, the person talking would be heard through the cars speakers and i'd be able to talk back if the q continued using the built in mic. The problem is that when you plug something into the headphone/headset jack on the q, it disables the built in mic because it assumes you're plugging in a wired headset (which has a mic) and not headphones/auxilary lines. Does anybody know if it's possible to keep the phone from disabling the mic when something is plugged into it? is there something in the registry?
other than not being able to speak, plugging the phone in does work in that you hear the voice through the car speakers. this is only good for voicemail though if you can't talk back!
this could be a big money saver considering most head units already have an auxilary in and the adapter at radioshack was only 10 dollars.... that's much less than a 100 + dollar bluetooth adapter! |
