Original music is a sampling of waves and in the end converted to digital format. Music in the .wav format is the highest quality (with respect to high sampling rates); However, .wav files are uncompressed and on average take up 10 mb per 60 seconds.
MP3's are digitally compressed .wav files. You have 99% quality retention with much much smaller file sizes. A regular 3 minute .mp3 file is on average around 3-5 mb, whereas, that same file in the .wav format can be up to 30-40 mb. This is why mp3's are much more popular and why people prefer them to .wav files.
Your q/q9 can support both formats. |
