I would have to agree with you on almost everything. I love the 8040. It is so comfortable... it pairs up smoothly and quickly with my Q9c... I get almost all 33ft of the range advertised with little static. The people I talk to say I sound crystal clear. The functions of the earpiece are wonderful... and the call quality is overall amazingly clear. The people I talk to can't hardly hear any of the noises surrounding me...
The only gripe I have... and I dont know if i can take it much longer is: The volume is too damn low. Even with the phone volume maxed out and the 8040's volume at max too. I drive a Dodge Truck and I drive all over the country... in town I have no problem, but when i get out on the highway, even with the windows all up and the stereo down, I have the hardest time hearing the person I am talking to. The eargells are so comfortable and you barely feel this unit on your head... but if they would only seal off the canal a bit better then i would have no problems.
I dont know if you have had the same issue... but that is the ONLY thing I dont like about this peice... and due to my need for something a little louder, I'm sad to say it might have to go back to Best Buy. I just dont know what else to swap it for... I absolutely HATE over-the-ear design and will not get another one. I has to be in-ear and has to be loud.
Was going to go for a Jawbone, but the price is a little steep (have to drop ANOTHER $50 over the 8040)... had a few plantronics and Motorola units... might try a Blueant or something...
But... for those who are staying in quieter areas (again.. just so you can hear the other person...not for the call quality!)... GET THE 8040... it is great. |
